In a way, this is one small story of New York City real estate as it changed through the 1990s.

The disappearance of smaller office space in the city to make way for store chains and the like, has become the common experience of all small businesses trying to remain here despite the increasing rents.

I documented these changes with photographs you can see here and created this for my first non-fiction video class during my IMA/MFA studies at Hunter. It was my earliest experience with editing and shooting video, so while it is primitive in many ways, it remains close to my heart.
